Reducing your auto premium!

discounts.

Reducing your car insurance premium can be an easy way to save money. Here are five easy tips to help keep more money for yourself!

Good student discount. If you have a child that is in school that has a GPA of a 3.0 or better, this could qualify you for an additional discount. We just need to see proof such as a transcript.

Set higher deductibles. The higher your deductible—the amount of money you are willing to pay in the event of a claim—the lower your premium generally is. Typically, deductibles range from $0 to $1,000.

Take a defensive driving course. Some auto insurance companies offer discounts for drivers who successfully complete a safe driving course at an accredited institution. Typically, these courses are taken by teenage drivers and seniors, but any driver may benefit from taking one.

Compare many auto insurance quotes. Be sure to get several auto insurance quotes when shopping around, then compare them side by side to pick the one that’s best for your situation.

AAA SmartTrek- AAA offers another discount that is called a Smartrek discount. Only certain vehicles can use this discount, but it’s a device that goes in your vehicle to monitor your driving. Such as breaking, accelerating, and other things that come into play. When you first sign up for it you will automatically receive a discount, but if you drive good you could receive more additional discounts.

6 Factors that may impact your auto insurance rate.

untitled
When it comes to car insurance not all prices are the same, some differ from state to state and driver to driver. There are many different factors that come into play when you’re looking at getting car insurance. All companies are different so it’s your job to check around and find the best price. Here are some factors that are included when you’re shopping around that you need to remember.

  1. DRIVING HISTORY. If you have been involved in numerous wrecks that are considered an at fault accident on your part then you’re going to have experience insurance. Also if you have tickets on your record that’s going to increase your cost as well. These will typically for all your record but it times some time. So start by watching your speed and watching yourself and other drivers around you.
  2. DEDUCTIBLES & DISCOUNTS. If you’re looking for the cheapest full coverage choosing a higher deductible will always decrease your rate. Just remember you’re subject to your deductible if an event of a loss. You can also save on car insurance if you ask for discounts. AAA offers many discounts for auto policy such as a multi-policy discount, advanced shopping discount, multi-policy discount, good student discount, defensive driver discount, smart trek device discount, and many others so just ask! We want to give you the most discounts to help your rate.
  3. AGE, MARITAL STATUS, AND GENDER. So typically if you’re young and single you’re going to have higher car insurance than if you were older and married. Let’s face it young drivers are more of a risk to insure cause of speeding and wrecks. Also if you’re a female you might have cheaper insurance than what a male would have. Sorry men females get it a little easier in the insurance world.
  4. CREDIT HISTORY. Data has shown that people with a higher credit score have fewer claims. It’s really important to get your credit score up so it will help your rate.
  5. PREVIOUS INSURANCE. Last thing that will determine your insurance rate is your previous insurance coverage. If you ever let your coverage lapse or cancel this will hurt your rate. So pay your insurance on time and don’t let it cancel or expire.

There are many factors that determine what your rate will be when it comes to auto insurance. It all comes down to the person wanting insurance. Do your part and see what discounts are offered and make sure your driving history and credit are in check. We want the best possible rate for you so remember that. Interested in Renters Insurance?

untitled

Basic questions people have about renters insurance.

1. Do you need to shop around?

Yes, like any other insurance policy every company’s prices and coverages are different. You need to shop around and see who can get you the best coverage for the right price.

  1. Why renters insurance?

Renters insurance is important, because you don’t want to lose something that’s very important to you. People normally get renters insurance to cover personal property like clothes, TV, or cell phones. And if your apartment or rental home is damaged by fire or vandalism, for example, you’re going to need a place to crash. It helps cover the cost of your hotel room and other additional living expenses. The basis of renters insurance is simple. If something happens to your property, and it is damaged, (reason for damages must not be an exclusion in the policy) you will be able to file a claim allowing you to replace your property with little out of pocket expenses.

  1. Are expensive items covered?

Yes, but you have to get it listed separately on your policy. Say if it’s a diamond ring you need to get it appraised and have a photo of it. This will increase your premium though.

  1. Need a home inventory?

No, but you need to know what you have. Say your home gets burglarized your insurance company isn’t going to hand over a check for $20,000. They will want a detailed list of what you have and what it will cost to replace it. Some say the best way to do this is videotape everything you have.

AAA has some of the best prices on the market. Renters Insurance can cost as low as $19.99 a month. Give us a call for a free quote 918-872-8105.

What is comprehensive coverage?

untitled

Comprehensive only covers a few specific things

Comprehensive car insurance does provide extremely valuable protections — but towing, rental, and personal property coverages aren’t among them. Instead, comprehensive coverage protects your car against damage not resulting from a collision, as well as from theft.

What comprehensive insurance does cover

Just because it doesn’t cover everything outside of collisions doesn’t mean comprehensive insurance isn’t valuable. In fact, it covers a wide variety of things that can damage your car, including rockslides on twisting mountain roads, vandalism, and fires.

Comprehensive insurance can help you pay for your car’s repair, or even help you replace it entirely in the case of a total loss, due to any of the following:

  • Damage not resulting from a collision, including:
    • Falling object
    • Fire
    • Certain natural disasters
    • Vandalism
  • Theft
  • Glass damage
  • Damage from hitting an animal

What it doesn’t cover

Despite the name, comprehensive insurance won’t help if you hit an object, require towing or roadside assistance, rent a car, or have personal property stolen from within your vehicle since other coverages exist to protect you in such situations.

Thankfully, car insurance companies offer options to cover all these events and more, including:

  • Collision: which covers the cost of repairing or replacing your car if it collides with another car or object, or rolls over (property damage liability covers damage to other cars/objects)
  • Towing and labor (often called roadside assistance): which can help with towing and some on-site services, including:
    • Tire changing
    • Gas, oil, and water delivery
    • Battery services
    • Lockout services
  • Rental reimbursement: which pays for a rental car if you can’t drive your insured car due to theft or damage

Personal property is usually covered by homeowners or renters insurance.

5 Tips for Lowering Car Insurance!

car

Are you paying too much for your car insurance? If you want to help your wallet out you need to know about your car and your policy- and your insurance company is the only one who can help answer your questions.
When you call and request for a quote or apply for car insurance you need to remember these 5 easy steps to help lower your rate. Also if you call (918) 872-8105 you can get a free rate quote.
Tip 1- Shop around & compare insurance companies
When it comes to insurance you want the best… but you also want the cheapest policy. By looking around and calling local insurers you’re likely to find the best deal out there. It’s also probably cheaper than the first policy offered to you.
Tip 2- Do some research
Do you need everything on your policy? If you don’t know how- you need to ask a licensed agent to help assist you with your questions. Know your research so you can get the best policy options.
Tip 3- Make sure you have & know all your information
When requesting a quote make sure you’re ready with the right and proper information. It will also help you out because we can get your quote done faster if you have all your info ready. You also need to make sure all your information is correct, because your premium is influenced by it. Your premium is the fee charged by insurance companies for your coverage.
When asking for a quote it helps to know these—
• Year & cost of your vehicle, also any special equipment it has
• Vin #
• Basic info on all drivers your wanting to cover- name, age, marital status, and sex
• Required limits of liability
• Your desired coverage and deductibles
Tip 4- Ask about discounts
Different insurance companies will offer special discounts, but you need to ask what you qualify for.
Discounts may range from having a strong driving record, completing driver’s education programs, multiple vehicles on a policy, or purchasing a home or life insurance policy with the same company.
AAA offers discounts for being a AAA member, early shopper which means you call 8 days before your policy goes into effect, defensive driving courses, driving a hybrid, and being a good student.
DON’T HESITATE TO ASK!
Tip 5- Improve your credit
In certain states insurance companies may reward you with a lower premium if you have great credit! When insurance companies are determining your premium, an insurance risk score comes into play. An insurance risk score is basically a credit rating, but it doesn’t pull any information. After we will rate you from a 1-50 based on that score.
Here are some ways to improve your credit score.
• Ask credit card companies for a lower interest rate
• Pay credit cards on time
• Keep your credit card balance low
• Maintain a stable job & residence

Insurance Check Up

untitled

Get an Insurance Check Up for 2016

We all know at the start of every year we like to check up on things and make sure everything is in line for the whole year. Just as a yearly physical is good for your health, taking time to examine your insurance coverage can help ensure your financial well-being. Knowing your insurance inside and out is always great. You need to know what you’re covered for and what you’re not covered for.

Follow these simple steps to make sure your insurance coverage is still a good fit for your needs:

  • Know your coverage – Make a list of your current auto, home and life insurance coverages. Know what your deductibles (the amount you pay out of pocket before your insurance payout begins) for each policy are. Contact your agent or insurance customer service if you don’t know the details of your policies.

  • Think about what has changed since your last checkup – Sometimes people renovate their homes, add new things, and get a vacation property or rental property. You need to make sure everything is up to date such as dwelling coverage. If you have been renovating your home it’s important to have an inspector come and check it out. It could make the value of your property go up in price.

  • Review your home inventory – Now is a good time to check your home inventory. It’s very important in case a loss happens or burglary that you have proof of all your valuables. You need to go from room to room, top to bottom and take a video and pictures of everything you have. If a loss does happen your insurance company is going to need proof of what you had in your home. Even if you don’t think it’s valuable now you need to take pictures or videos just in case.

  • Consider natural disasters – Homeowners policies do not cover flood or earthquake damage. Think about adding this insurance if you’re at risk, and remember that floods can happen with little or no warning, even if you’re not in a flood zone or near a body of water. So many people now are adding earthquake insurance to home policies. It’s very affordable, so call your agent to see how much it would cost to add it on.

  • Evaluate your auto coverage – The number of miles you drive everyday factor into how much your policy is going to be. If you aren’t traveling as much as you used to let your insurance company know so we can change your coverage on your vehicle. That will lower your premium. Also if your car is older or paid off you might want to think about changing from full coverage insurance to liability. This will help save you money significantly.

  • Call your agent – Call your AAA insurance agent or insurance customer service, or visit your local branch to discuss your insurance needs. Work with them to determine what policies and what deductibles work for your budget. Make sure to ask about possible discounts, including student, loyalty and multi-policy.

Safety Tips for Black Friday Shopping

Safety Tips for Black Friday Shopping

Black Friday shopping is what most people look forward to after Thanksgiving. Who doesn’t love all the sales that they offer and put on? It seems like stores are opening earlier and earlier every year. It almost takes away from family time, because were leaving so early to get started on shopping. The lines are enough to make you get there way before the store opens. Black Friday shopping is intended for fun, but we must also be safe while doing it. Here are some few tips that will help you be safe this year.

Before you go-

  1. FILL UP YOUR GAS TANK. We all know you’re going to be waiting in the car to either find a parking spot or to get out of the parking lot. It’s pretty important to make sure you have gas in your car. Running out of gas on Black Friday would not be fun to deal with.
  2. DECIDE HOW YOU’LL PAY. It’s very important to make a game plan before going in the hectic stores. You need to budget yourself properly and also know ahead of time how you’re going to pay. You don’t want to be that man or woman who everyone is waiting on because you can’t find your debit card.
  3. CALL AHEAD. If you must call ahead to stores to see what all there sales are and what time do people normally line up. It’s not their first merry go round so ask them anything!
  4. CHARGE MOBILE PHONES. I would say this should be at the top of your list. Families always end up getting split up in stores or in the mall. No one wants to have their phones die on them while Black Friday shopping. So make sure you charge your phone before leaving Thanksgiving with your family.

In the parking lot-

  1. TAKE YOUR TIME. Parking on Black Friday can be very stressful, but I think it would be ok to take the extra time and park in the back or away from other cars. If you’re young you have no excuse as to why you can’t walk a little bit to a store. Also it will help prevent wrecks or someone dinging your car door.
  2. PICK A SECURE SPOT. Finding a parking spot that is lighted well and looks safe is also important. You want your family to be safe while having fun.
  3. APPROACH YOUR CAR WITH KEYS IN HAND. Men and women are especially watching that night to see what they can steal. They might target a single girl or a group of girls that are carrying a lot of bags. Do yourself a favor and have your keys in your hand and ready to get in the car as soon as you’re walking out of the store.

In the store-

  1. KEEP PERSONAL BELONGINGS SECURE. I would watch and be extra careful about personal belongings such as a purse or wallet. I would not want to lose either one in a store, because I’m sure that would never be returned. Let’s face it not very many people are honest these days so be careful.
  2. BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS. People love taking their families shopping on Black Friday and no one wants to be in line with the guy who is getting mad and pushing people. I suggest you watch out for people like that. You don’t want to end up on the news for getting into a fight with another person on Black Friday.

Above all, Black Friday shopping is supposed to be fun and joyous with family and friends so enjoy it. Also be nice to all the people working at the stores, you are privileged to not be working and shopping.
